Service description
Anytown provides local-news network software, dashboard tools, tenant and site administration, advertising infrastructure, and social publishing workflows for authorized publications and local-news network tenants.
Eligibility and administrator authority
You may use Anytown only if you are authorized by the relevant tenant, publication, business, or organization. If you connect a social account, page, channel, profile, or app credential, you represent that you are allowed to manage that account and authorize Anytown to act on behalf of the tenant for the configured workflows.
OAuth authorization
Connecting a social account grants Anytown permission to store connection metadata and credentials, publish or schedule content, upload media, retrieve publishing status, and collect analytics only as configured by the tenant administrator and permitted by the connected platform.
Tenant content responsibility
Tenants and authorized administrators remain responsible for all articles, media, captions, hashtags, links, scheduled posts, approvals, and publishing instructions submitted through Anytown. Anytown may help automate workflows, but it does not replace editorial judgment, legal review, rights clearance, or platform compliance review.
Platform rules
Users must comply with all applicable Google, YouTube, Meta, Facebook, Instagram, Threads, X, and other connected platform terms, developer policies, content rules, advertising rules, and privacy requirements. Platform rules may be stricter than these terms.
Revocation and disconnection
Authorized users can disconnect social accounts in Anytown where the dashboard provides that control. Users may also revoke app access directly through the relevant platform settings. After revocation, Anytown will stop using the affected connection for future publishing, though prior public posts and retained operational records may remain as described in the Privacy Policy and Data Deletion Instructions.
Prohibited uses
- Spam, deceptive posting, fake engagement, misleading automation, or platform manipulation.
- Impersonation, unlawful content, harassment, hate, threats, exploitation, or content that violates platform policies.
- Uploading or publishing media without the necessary rights, licenses, releases, or permissions.
- Scraping, unauthorized data collection, surveillance, or use of connected-account data outside authorized tenant workflows.
- Connecting credentials, pages, profiles, channels, apps, or accounts that the tenant does not own or have authority to manage.
- Attempting to bypass security controls, rate limits, platform restrictions, tenant boundaries, or access controls.
Availability and third-party dependencies
Social platforms, hosting providers, payment providers, email providers, analytics services, and other third parties may change APIs, reject content, limit rates, revoke access, remove features, experience outages, or require additional review. Anytown is not responsible for third-party platform decisions or outages, but we will make commercially reasonable efforts to maintain the service and communicate material operational issues.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access to Anytown or a connected account workflow if we believe a user or tenant has violated these terms, platform rules, tenant authority requirements, security requirements, payment obligations, or applicable law.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
Anytown is provided on an as-available basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of uninterrupted service, error-free publishing, platform acceptance, analytics accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Anytown, HappyVertical, Blindman Press, and their operators, contractors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or lost-profit damages arising from use of the service, connected platforms, rejected posts, unavailable APIs, or tenant publishing decisions.
Governing law and contact
Unless a signed tenant agreement says otherwise, these terms are governed by the laws of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Questions about these terms can be sent to privacy@anytown.ai.
Updates
These terms are effective May 8, 2026. We may update them as the platform, tenant workflows, or connected platform requirements change. Continued use of Anytown after an update means the updated terms apply.
